13) SUNNY MARSEILLE, FIRST STEPS BACK TO FRANCE (14 and 15 June 2016)

The flight between London and Marseille was cheap, but Ryanair is the worst company I experienced. I found employees impressively unfriendly… Other than this, the weather was great, and the landing in Marseille absolutely stunning. I always take a window seat, but I’m not always sure which side is the best to have a good look on the city. Continue reading “13) SUNNY MARSEILLE, FIRST STEPS BACK TO FRANCE (14 and 15 June 2016)”

12) HISTORIC ‘THE SMOKE’ LONDON (10 to 12 June 2016)

I stayed 3 full days in London, but I will condense them in a quick article: I still have a lot to catch up. Coming from Iceland, it is quite a shock to get into such a crowded city… As usual, I had not booked any accommodation, but I had spotted a few ‘cheap’ and well located hostels. Not that cheap, every night cost me around 25pounds. For the first time ever, I slept in a 3 storey bed! Not as exciting as it sounds… Continue reading “12) HISTORIC ‘THE SMOKE’ LONDON (10 to 12 June 2016)”

10) ICELAND NORTH PART (8 June 2016)

After 1 night in Egilsstadir, Eva, Kurt and I decided to go North, towards the Lake Myvatn. That night, I had 2 Americans snoring like pigs. I had to use a trick: listen to Rain Sounds, an application I had downloaded that makes rain sounds and saved my life that night. In the morning, we went on top of an inactive volcano crater near the lake: Continue reading “10) ICELAND NORTH PART (8 June 2016)”

6) ICELAND: THE CAPITAL REYKJAVIK (3 June 2016)

While I was touring the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle in the last 2 days, I was also looking for a travel mate to share rental car and petrol costs for the next week. The objective is to drive around the island and discover all the beautiful hidden secrets. I found Kurt, American, and we decided to leave Saturday morning. For my last day in Reykjavik, I went for a walk around with Thuy, young and pretty German (I know she is reading this). The weather was fantastic: blue sky, 15deg! Continue reading “6) ICELAND: THE CAPITAL REYKJAVIK (3 June 2016)”

5) ICELAND: BLUE LAGOON AND GOLDEN CIRCLE (1 and 2 June 2016)

I left Australia the 20th of May, and after short stays in Dubai, Ireland and Scotland, I was about to visit my 4th country: Iceland.

I landed in Keflavik, 40km from the capital Reykjavik, around 9pm. It was less than 10degC, raining cats and dogs and my head was hurting from the multiple pints I shared with Ben at Edinburgh airport. Continue reading “5) ICELAND: BLUE LAGOON AND GOLDEN CIRCLE (1 and 2 June 2016)”

4) BEAUTIFUL SCOTLAND (28 to 31 May 2016)

Edinburgh is the 2nd largest city in Scotland, after Glasgow. But it is the touristic and historic capital: there are plenty of all buildings, including the main castle overlooking the city. I did not spend much time there, as I had already paid a visit a few years ago. To me, it is possibly the most beautiful city in the UK! Continue reading “4) BEAUTIFUL SCOTLAND (28 to 31 May 2016)”
