83) DIVING IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA (9 to 21 April 2017)

Mainly pictures in this article. Because Daniel was too busy with his job and his new starting food business, he recommended me to one of his mates Fernando. I had already dived around 15 times in France, Philippines, Thailand and Sri Lanka, but my French certificates were not internationally recognised and it was time to fix it. I took the Open Water course then the Advanced Open Water course. How beautiful is the underwater World! We did exercises (exchange equipment, emergency situations, navigation), passed tests, dived deep (about 35m), dived in fresh water caves (called cenotes). We saw plenty of fishes, corals, and turtles just a few hundred meters from the coast. 13 dives all together. Amazing! One of the highlights of my World Tour. Obviously, with 10 days only in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, I cannot say that I have visited Mexico. Without doubt, I will be back.

This is the end of the American part of my trip. From now, I will not speak Spanish anymore. In the plane, I had mixed feelings: excited about flying to a new land, but extremely sad because I know it will be a while before I can come back. I have been to Europe and Asia before, but Latin America was a first time and the major part of my trip, I feel the end coming and it is not the best feeling. But I would be silly to complain. After stops in Mexico City, Los Angeles and Hong Kong: China, here I come!Leaving Playa del Carmen:Stop over in Mexico City… that’s a huge city!Stop over in Los Angeles:By the way, I missed my flights to Hong Kong and had to book another one. I had to queue 3 hours at the Los Angeles immigration check, even though I was only stopping over. Not impressed. At all.Luckily, this tin can duck made me smile:Los Angeles and the Californian cost.
