Rio is the 2nd largest city in Brasil (6.5 million people). In the early 19th century, the Queen of Portugal moved the capital of Portugal to Rio. I landed in Rio 10 days before the start of the Olympics so I would have time to go through the touristic places before it gets too crowded.
