91) CAMBODIA: PHNOM PENH (22 to 24 May 2017)

Cambodia is a beautiful country. Third time I was going there and it always feels special, I would not be able to explain why. The people maybe? I have often noticed that the poorer they are, the more they smile…I have been part of the Taramana association for a few years now, sponsoring a kid, Kakada. Basically, I give a bit of money every year to allow him to eat and study. He lives with his grand mother.Taramana has a new centre, thanks to the gifts they receive from all around the World, and thanks to the director, Jocelyn, with who I had a long chat. Thanks also to the volunteers who invited me to play dodge ball (first time ever!) and for a night out. Working for something else other than money is not an easy thing to do, I am so glad I get to meet these people…I stayed 2 days only in Cambodia. It is now time to fly to my very last stop: the island of Phuket, in Thailand.

  1. Dear young gentleman,
It is so really encouraging to find people like you,who are able to travel widely to distant and exotic lands. I knew almost nothing about Cambodia. After reading and visualizing your blog, now I know a few things about this country which seems to be one the so many “poor” countries around the globe . It is sad to realize the amazing riches many people have in contrast with the complete lack of resources others suffer,gladly..in most cases. So thanks for sharing.I will go on reading your entries whenever I can. Good luck in your future visits.
