As for Cuba, Mexico was not planned during this trip. It is a huge country (4 times France, a third of Australia) that would require a couple of months of exploration. No, the reason I went to the Aztec land was to obtain my diving certificates in Playa del Carmen. My good Chilean friend Daniel, I met in Australia 8 years ago, is a diving instructor and had told me about how he was living the dream in the Yucatan, this Eastern region of Mexico.Playa del Carmen is a relatively small city (150,000 inhabitants) recently developing a lot with tourism from USA and Europe. It is located 70km from Cancun. When I was not diving, parties, beach, and food were involved. Sometimes all together 😊.Daniel was about to start a side business: Eating with Carmen, in which he proposes a food tour in the streets of Playa del Carmen. I have experimented it and it was absolutely fantastic!
