Very happy with my sport week on Floripa island (surfing, hiking), I started making my way towards Rio. First stop is in Curitiba, where parents of Daniela, my good friend from Australia, live. I was fantastically welcomed, thanks a lot!
Isabel, Patricia and Ramon:
Every morning, I walked Jojo, the dog, in the park nearby:
Patricia showed me the city. Curitiba, home of 1.9 million people, is a very green city, with numerous parks and wide streets. There isn’t anything special to visit, but it is nice to walk down the streets.

I found this library in a tramway cute:
Spirit shot in a beer!
I took advantage of the kitchen once, preparing my speciality ‘Tahitian Salmon’.
I stayed 3 days in Curitiba and headed towards Rio. Curitiba to Rio, its 1,200 km (3 days).
First night in Santos with my good friend Fabio, I had met in Australia. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures.
In Santos, I was asked to stop and interviewed by the Brasilian TV! They questioned me about what I was doing in South America, and about the upcoming Carnaval. I think… because my Portuguese isn’t on point!
Roads towards Rio were wet and very busy, but quite nice in the hills or along the coast:

I drove pass the new Medina Institute, that opened just a few weeks ago. Gabriel Medina is a professional surfer (World Champion in 2014), and this centre is aimed to detect surf gifted kids very early:
I was one day late on my program. The Carnaval starts today and I’m not in Rio yet. But I could enjoy the atmosphere in Paraty. A good warm-up!

When I woke up, I had the feeling it was my last trip. I am going back to Rio, where everything started in South America.
