I read that Buenos Aires isn’t the best place to spend a New Year’s Eve. Most of people stay with their family and private parties are expensive and overrated. With my co-pilot Han, we went down the coast to Pinamar, a small and sandy holiday town (40,000 inhabitants) on the beach.
Stop for saucissons on the side of the road:
Pinamar is a holiday place for Buenos Aires rich families. For the first time during my travels, I did not see foreigners. We had a good meal and dancing night to celebrate the end of 2016 and the start of 2017. This year, no resolutions for me, but 2 things I want/have to do: learn how to surf, and go back to work. But let’s not talk about work. Happy New Year to all!
After intense visiting in Buenos Aires, we enjoyed not doing much on the beach.
Photoshoot with the motorbike:

Quite amazingly, my ex-Spanish teacher’s family was also in Pinamar, where they own a holiday house. For the record, I had not seen her for 17 years until we caught up in Buenos Aires a week earlier. We had great fun playing with the kids, a first for Han who spent her time smiling and laughing:
These days, I am not living as per normal long time traveller’s standards. Our Christmas gift was a golf day. I have not played much in my life, but I love the idea. And it was just great!
We can only appreciate the style:
We stayed 5 days in Pinamar, a perfect relaxing holiday. Time to get back to Buenos Aires for more visit, see you in the next article!
