Months ago, my mum had booked a holiday house for the whole family in Auvergne, central France, not far from Le Puy en Velay. Le Puy en Velay is a famous peregrination place and we spent 2 days visiting the city and its very old monuments.
The Cathedral, built in the 13th century, with black stones from the volcanic area:




Notre-Dame de France, a huge iron statue built in 1855 from canons taken from the Russian during the war of Crimea, overlooking the city:
The statue is 22m high and 835 tons:
We can climb inside:
We also lost ourselves in the small streets of the city. This church is 1500 years old!

At the holiday house, we spent time looking after (=fighting) kids, cooking, chatting, relaxing, reading… a proper family time!
