The flight between London and Marseille was cheap, but Ryanair is the worst company I experienced. I found employees impressively unfriendly… Other than this, the weather was great, and the landing in Marseille absolutely stunning. I always take a window seat, but I’m not always sure which side is the best to have a good look on the city.

I was in Marseille to see Jean, one of my oldest friends I was in high school with, now lawyer and married with 2 kids. As always when I get to France, the first thing I do is to grab a croissant! Last time I was in France was 2 years ago…
In the morning, after one of the very best croissants I ever had, we went swimming into the World famous Calanques of Cassis. I’m used to Northern Australian, Indonesian or Thai 30degrees seas, but there the water was a freezing cold 18degrees and I did not stay very long. But the pictures prove I made it.

I arrived in Marseille the day after the riots between Russians and English that happened for the Euro football game, but the city was clean and everyone relax… Marseille is the 2nd largest city in France (840,000), after Paris.
That was also the opportunity to have a diner with Beautiful Celia, met in Ireland 8 years ago, when she was still a baby.
I stayed 2 days in Marseille only. I would have loved to stay longer but my schedule is tight. Wednesday 15 June, I was taking the bus to Toulouse. The trip is about 6 hours and 3 times cheaper than the train (19euros only).
