After 1 night in Egilsstadir, Eva, Kurt and I decided to go North, towards the Lake Myvatn. That night, I had 2 Americans snoring like pigs. I had to use a trick: listen to Rain Sounds, an application I had downloaded that makes rain sounds and saved my life that night. In the morning, we went on top of an inactive volcano crater near the lake:

We also went to the top of the highest mountain around the lake Myvatn! That was unexpected, but billions of flies made the climb a bit annoying. Just try and keep calm.

Eva went her way, still hitchhiking firther North. Kurt and I kept going West. On the way to Hvammstangi, we stopped at a lunar landscape. Some boiling mud with a strong smell of sulphur.
That night, and for the first time in my life, I used Couchsurfing. Kritrun welcomes travellers for free at her place. She had even cooked an Icelandic speciality: Kjotsupa, sort of Irish stew or Boeuf Bourguignon, and offered many drinks. Amazing lady!
